1175 Obstructing an Intersection for N.J. Drivers

It's been a long time since our last post, and since then we've had a lot of New Jersey drivers call in with various speeding violations in courts throughout NY state. As you know, each state has its own rules about traffic violations - how they are reported to and from each state, fines and penalties different violations carry, etc.  And many of you know that in New Jersey, getting a ticket for "obstructing an intersection" in New York state is not so bad. There are reports that a plea to this violation carries no points at all and is effectively the same as our 1201-A. Others say that New Jersey's DMV records 2 non-speed points for an 1175, essentially the equivalent of New York's 1110-A.  If any New Jersey drivers want to report in and let us know what your experience has been (whether a former client of our office or not), please let us know. (We have seen that it is a 2 point violation).
